He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lott Erastus and Fern Jennette Brown; his son Lehi; his wife Teresa Martineau; his children, Darrel Russon, Verlin Russon (Kathy), Virgil Russon (Teresa), Lynette Freitas (Pete), Rhonda Bankhead (Phil) and RaeLynn Ibarra (Alexander); and his brother LaVell Russon. He was also cherished by 22 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren.
