He was predeceased by: his wife Shirley; and his sister Elizabeth Chitsey. He is survived by: his grandfather Billy Bruce Cowser; his brother Jack Cowser; and his children, Cathi Stewart (Val), Jane Bunker (Phil), Bruce Cowser (Teresa), Linda Patch (Mike) and Steve Cowser (Kelly).
