He is survived by: his wife Doris Nelson; his children, Brian Carter (JaNae), Scott Carter, David Carter (Karen), Jeffrey Carter (Ana), Peggy Rhoades (Boyd), Keith Carter, Judy Orton (Shaun) and James Carter (Ronelle); and his siblings, Melba Houtz, Leonard, Leland, LeRoy, Gene, Joyce Smith, Carolyn Peacock and Gary.
