He was predeceased by: his parents, George Kenneth Bench, Sr. and Ruby Packer Bench; his sons, David and Keith; his grandson Darrin; and his great grandchildren, Taggen and Lucy.

He is survived by: his wife LaVada Mae Deakin; his children, Julia Johnson (Alan), Howell, Steven Bench (Jolyn), Brenda Ross (Fritz) and Jason Bench (Teri); and his sister Janet McBride (Ron). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren.
