He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth G. Thompson and Peru Jardine Thompson; his wife Edna Griffin; his siblings, Joe Thompson and Faye Godfrey; and his son-in-law Brent W. Roberts.
He is survived by: his siblings, Electa Nelson, Sylvia Hansen and Melvin Thompson (Lila). He is also survived by his five children.
