He was predeceased by: his parents, Lee Daniel and Rhoda Jane Pike Felter; his former spouse Guyla Rae Taylor; his wife Mary Louise Chappell; his children, Kenneth Lee and Patricia Maxine Felter; and his siblings, Janet Clark, Dan Earl "Pete" Felter and Jasper Lee "Bud" Felter.

He is survived by: his children, Evelyn Rae Ivie (Craig), Vernal, David James Felter (Sharnae) of Corona, CA and Cheryl Rene Felter of Grand Junction, CO; and his brother Ronald T. Butcher.
