She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles George Petersen "Charlie" and Olga Olympia Arnason Petersen "Olga"; her siblings, Jerry Petersen (Carole) and Lois Petersen Sloan (Lynn); her son-in-law Doug Cannon (Joan); and her granddaughter Betsy Shaw.
She is survived by: her husband Paul Southwick; her sisters, Janis Petersen Wallace (George) and Elaine Petersen Bush (Doug); and her children, Mary Shaw (John), Elaine Millet (Robert), Anne Allred, Joan Cannon (late Doug), David Wilson (Shirlie) and Marian Ertel (William). She is also survived by 37 grandchildren and spouses and 110 (and counting) great grandchildren.
