He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer R. Matheson and A'fton Mortensen; his son Devon Rex Matheson; and his grandchildren, Ashley Matheson, Christine Matheson and Alexander Darrin Matheson.
He is survived by: his wife Myrna Ann Jolley; and his children, Rickey Matheson (Louise), Franklin Matheson (Diantha), Darrin Matheson (Kimberley) and Lisa Morrison (Russell). He is also survived by ten grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
