We are sad to announce that on May 10, 2026, at the age of 73, Janalyn Smith in Orem, Utah passed away. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As Janalyn departs from our midst, her spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved Janalyn. Though Janalyn may no longer walk beside us, her legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Daniel Nelson Smith Jr. and Florence Joyce Smith (Johnson); her brother Daniel Nelson Smith III; her niece Heidi J. Gatherum; her nephew Ryan Smith; and her sister Joanne Kathleen Fowler (Cleon Fowler).
She is survived by: her siblings, Florence Joyce Cook (Richard V. Cook), Julie Eilene Bott (Russel) and David L. Smith (Colleen Smith); and her mother-in-law Mari Smith. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins.
Viewing will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Hughes Mortuary (1037 E 700 S, St. George, UT 84790). A graveside service will be held on Monday, May 18th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Tonaquint Cemetery (1777 S Dixie Dr, St. George, UT 84770).
