He was predeceased by: his parents, Fred Stubbs Hedquist and Eliza Mortensen; his brother Jerold Hedquist; and his former wife Renee Lewis. He is survived by: his grandfather Albert "Ab" Keith Hedquist; his spouses, Renee Lewis and Frances Renee Strong Pearson; and his children, Kristin Albert Hedquist (Kathleen), Denece Graham Graddy (Michael), Brian Fred Hedquist (Michelle), Jason Eric Hedquist (LeAnn), Celeste Anne Ficklin (Thomas), Kim Randall Pearson (Marcia) and Cindy Pearson. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ab requested that in lieu of flowers "be kind to one another".
