He was predeceased by: his parents, Ann Armour Hobens Atwood and Alfred Terrel Atwood; and his brothers, Stanley Atwood and Alan Brent Atwood. He is survived by: his wife Laura Rae; and his sisters, Moira Wilding (Robert), Signa Nicksic (Joe) and Colleen Riley (Larry). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

His philanthropic efforts included donations to Intermountain Health Care and Switchpoint.
