He was predeceased by: his parents, Woodruff Rust and Isabelle Rust; and his siblings, DeMar Rust, Annabelle Davis and Shirley Stone.

He is survived by: his son Vincent Gorman; his wife Ramona Hamilton Rust; his children, William Kevin Rust (Janis), Calvin Woodruff Rust, Michael Hamilton Rust (Sharon), Pamela Hallam (J. Merrill) and Patricia Mortensen (Blake); and his siblings, LaRue Salinger, MarLeah Hailstone, Val Dean Rust and Maida Withers.
