He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Robert and Evelyn Leonard Bjornn; his brothers, Ted and Steve; his uncles, Jack and Bob; and his grandson Jason.

He is survived by: his children, James Matt (Gina), Marianne Yates (Scott), Becky Wayment (Mark) and Elizabeth Thornton (Don); his wife Nancy; and his sister Joyce (Tolman).
