She was predeceased by: her parents, Samuel Schwartz Smith and Jeannette Taylor Whitaker; her former husband David Edward White; her husband Marvel Kent Brown; her grandson Samuel David White; her siblings, Avon Whitaker Oakeson, Joan Whitaker Scott, Samuel Whitaker Smith, Joseph Whitaker Smith and Hyrum Whitaker Smith; her stepson Steven Kent Brown; and her stepgrandchildren, Benjamin David Brown and Crystal Dawn Brown.
She is survived by: her siblings, Esther Whitaker Bowen, Teppi Sessions (Lance), Teresa Haight (Hunter) and Paul White (Teresa); and her stepchildren, Connie Gundersen (Leonard), Charlene Craghead (Samuel) and Ronnie Brown (Deborah). She is also survived by nine step grandchildren and sixteen step great grandchildren.
