It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gordon Kearl Ashley II in Salt Lake City, Utah, born in Montpelier, Idaho, who passed away on July 27, 2023, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Rae Dell Evans and Gordon Ashley; and his stepfather John Whittaker. He is survived by: his sister Allyson Ashley; his sister-in-law Sherri Viland; his cousins, Brent Rich and Cheri Cates; and his half-siblings, Blair Ashley and Nary Jane Ashley.
Gordon will be remembered for his dedication to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for this contribution to the field of physics, his dedication to and love for his country, and his concern for, and efforts to help others.
