She was predeceased by: her parents, Effie Simpson Whitesides and Heber John Whitesides (Jack); her husband Robert Sawyer (Bob); and her pet Abbi. She is survived by: her pet Emma Elizabeth; her children, Thom Sawyer and Victoria Tolman; her granddaughters, Melisa Griffith and Rachel Foster; her great grandchildren, Macklen, Bruher and Finley; her siblings, Sherry Olsen, Liz Bagley and John Michael Whitesides; her nieces and nephews, Kristen Morely, Hannah Bagley, Heather, JJ Whitesides, Bob and Jack Olsen; and her in-laws, Mike Shuping, Mark Tolman, Ben Steward, Rick Bagley and Robert Olsen (Bob).

In keeping with Jackie's lifelong compassion for animals, the family suggests that donations be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Utah.
