Jim Papastamos Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 7, 2025, at the age of 90, Jim Papastamos (Salt Lake City, Utah) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicholas Papastamos and Peggy Papastamos; and his siblings, Έλενα (Elena), Αλεξανδρεία (Alexandria), Κωνσταντία (Constantina), Άγγελος (Angelo) and Γεώργιος (George).
He is survived by: his wife Bessie; his children, Nick Papastamos (Candi Hess), Peggy Lewis (Marvin Lewis), Angelo Papastamos and Chrissy Robinson (Lovell Robinson); his grandchildren, Whitney Lewis-Fancher, Marcus Lewis, Jasmine Robinson, Tre'Robinson, Lexi Papastamos, Sofi Papastamos and Olivia Papastamos; and his great grandchildren, Grayson Fancher, Camden Fancher and Collins Fancher. He is also survived by children and grandchildren, Jim leaves behind numerous nieces/nephews, and grandnieces/nephews.
A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 18th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Starks Funeral Parlor (3651 S 900 E, Millcreek, UT 84106).
Even as his health declined, when he began battling Parkinson's disease after the age of 85, he was still insistent upon playing table tennis competitively.
