In Loving Memory of Louie Draper SorensenLouie passed away peacefully in her sleep at Inter Mountain Health Hospital in Salt Lake City on June 10, her sweetheart Bry's birthday. She had a traumatic fall at home and suffered from CVA.
Louie was born on September 9, 1926 in Redmond, Utah, to parents Alvretta Caroline (Christensen) Draper and Neal Jefferson Draper. She graduated from North Sevier High School in 1944, and she married the love of her life, Bry Dean Sorensen, July 25, 1944 in Richfield, Utah. They met when Louie was 13 and Bry was 14 years old; they got married when she was 17 and he was 18. They had a long and happy marriage, and Bry passed away in 2012.
She and Bry enjoyed entertaining, traveling, "Dancing in the Moonlight," playing bridge, canasta, golf, camping and horses; Bry had several beautiful horses. Louie would read several books at one time, and she enjoyed watching "Jeopardy," "Wheel of Fortune," and English mysteries on PBS. She loved her dogs, especially Coco, her last little friend.
Louie is survived by her only child, "Max" (Maxene) Caroline Mulligan and her husband, Christopher, Bry's brother, Ted Sorensen (Lynda) of Salina, her brother-in-law, Gary Sturdevant of Bluffdale, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvretta and Neal, brothers Newell (Emma), Don (Amy), Elmo, Karral (Lorna), sisters Florence and Katy Draper, and Joy (Draper) Sturdevant. She will be missed by all who knew her; she was sincere, loving, giving and a positive influence on everyone who met her.
Memorial graveside services will be held June 20 at 10:00 a.m. at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park (Olympus site) at 3401 S. Highland Drive, Millcreek, Utah.
