He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, George Eugene and Anna Fleming Merrick; his significant other Reva Lucille Peterson; his children, Leslie Merrick, Stevane Godina (Fernando) and Robert Merrick (Laurie); his daughter-in-law Debbie Merrick; and his children, John Merrick and Anne Merrick. He was also cherished by ten grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.
