He was predeceased by: his parents, Wallace Hyrum and Mazella Rosley Braithwaite; his son Vernon; and his siblings, Gerald, Keith and Betty.

He is survived by: his grandchildren, Alex, Rachel and Cole; his wife Diane; his sons, Brian and Jason (Nanci); his brother Larry (Connie); his son Dennis; and his daughter-in-law Sandy (Vernon). He is also survived by many sisters in law, brothers in law, nieces, and nephews.
