He was predeceased by: his parents, Flora Mae Galford and Charles Harvey Shepherd; his stepfather John Dempsey (Marie Ellen Furr); his half-sister Ruth Alice Galford; and his grandson Chad Richard Shepherd.
He is survived by: his wife Noni; and his children, John Lee Shepherd, Charles David Shepherd and Vickie Lynn Shepherd Daly. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
