He was predeceased by: his wife Lois Coleman Smith; his son Rodney Gene Smith; and his siblings, Hadyn Lowell Smith, Wayne Smith and Shirley Lou Smith.
He is survived by: his parents, Hadyn Layborn and Lula Mae Smith (Beesley); and his sons, Roger Craig Smith and Mark Wayne Smith (Angel). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
