Hakai was predeceased by: grandson Hakai Zachary Taufu; and siblings, Sakaria Finau, Leleiga Ieremea and Tasi Vaitoo. Hakai is survived by: siblings, Iaeli Eteuati, Nita Pepe Siaosi, Pulemalie Finau, Tina Fesola and Filemu Finau.
