It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John L. Thurmond (Sandy, Utah), born in Eureka, Utah, who passed away on August 5, 2019, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Byron Thurmond and Ameila Thurmond (Peterson); his siblings, Audry and Byron; his daughter Diane; and his son-in-law Donne Dressen.

He is survived by: his wife Joy Dean Thurmond; and his children, Denise (Frank), Tamra (Pete) and James (Alyssa). He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
