He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Bryce and Mary Ashton Searle; his wife Pat; his stepson Dennis Ford; and his grandson Cam Rider.

He is survived by: his children, Gayle Rider (Kevin) and Mike; his grandchildren, Matt Palmer (Marina), Morgan Rider, Buffy Ogden, Brittany Harris (Scott), Justyn Searle, Chrys Searle, Triniti Ford and Colton Ford; and his sister Elaine Koontz (Wellyn). He is also survived by 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild.
