He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Hugh E. Ross and Winifred Mae Shears; his wife Mary Carolin Hunsaker of Mesa; and his children, Nick (Marcelle) of Myrtle Beach, S. C., Shelley Ashcroft (Robert) of Sandy, UT and John of Sandy, UT. He was also cherished by nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
