He was predeceased by: his parents, Rulon Swenson and Rhea Swenson; his wife Maurine Snell; his former wife Barbara Brown; and his siblings, Lenore Brockbank, Shirley Beck and Cleve Swenson.

He is survived by: his children, Craig (Sharee Swenson), Elaine (Brian Selby) and John (Carolyn Swenson). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
