He was predeceased by: his mothers, Alma Melvin Heward Sr. and Pauline Lucille Fulcher. He is survived by: his former wife Debra Dunn; his close friend Lyla Jean Eggleston; his children, Charity Kerr (Josh), Benjamin Heward, Robert Heward, Elizabeth Laughbon (Andrew), Johnny Heward (Marcy), Julie Wilbur (Donovan) and Hyrum Heward (Zoe); his stepfather Glen Hull; and his siblings, Tambrea John (Nixon), LourieMae Bloomfield and Melvin Heward (Barbara). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren.

Together, they had 3 beautiful children: Charity, Benjamin, and Robert.
