He is survived by: his wife Esther Ortega; his children, Nina Luthi, Edward Pearson (Stacey), Amber Arriaga (Carlos), Hidee Ortega and Angelica Velasco (Orlando Garcia); his grandchildren, Danielle Ortega, Yazmine Luthi, Tiegan Pearson, Esperanza Tristan, Esmeralda Tristan, Mariana Tristan, Araceli Tristan, Gerardo Tristan, Giselle Martinez, Xavier Martinez, Yesenia Velasco, Jacquelin Velasco, Kassandra Velasco, Carlos Velasco and Axel Velasco; and his siblings, Tracila, Efren, Rosa, Adriana, Carmen, Angelica and Pancho Velasco Bayardo.
