He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie Joy Layton and Janice Carpenter Layton; his brothers, Edmond and Kenneth Layton; and his granddaughter Halycon Marie Bice.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce; his children, Jan Bice (Jeff), Christopher Layton (Lisa), Elizabeth Bodkin (Lew) and Leslie John Layton (Christine); his sister Ann Marie Layton Ajabli (Taha); and his siblings-in-law, Jenny Shaw (Bill), Judy Farley, Rebecca Nakamura (Kaz), Jessica Sandeno and Joseph Farley. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren.
