He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew DeHeer and Marian DeHeer; his siblings-in-law, Arie and Aartje Williamson; and his granddaughter Maebelle DeHeer.

He is survived by: his wife Yvonne; his children, Ron B. DeHeer (Kiersten), Alanna Steele (Brad) and Natalee Van Leeuwen (Danny); and his grandchildren, Brie Steele, Caleb Steele, Jonah Steele, Clay DeHeer, Kitty DeHeer, Queenie DeHeer, Andrew Van Leeuwen, Sophie Van Leeuwen, Zachery Van Leeuwen and Katelynn Van Leeuwen.
