It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Barbara Elen Pettley (Tooele, Utah), born in Provo, Utah, who passed away on October 26, 2021, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Russell Newbold and Irene Newbold; her husband Donald Ray Pettley; and her siblings, Joanna Dewey and Brian Newbold.

She is survived by : her children, Kathy Proctor (Jon), Donald Pettley Jr., Leah Ann Dellinger (Ford), Aaron Pettley (Denise), Mathew Pettley (Allyson), Shayna Johnson (Devin) and Brycie Downey (Blake). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.

In an abundance of caution, the family requests masks to be worn and social distancing to be observed.

Barbara has requested, in lieu of flowers, please donate to the Huntsman Cancer Institute on her behalf for Ovarian Cancer Research.

“Barbara went the extra mile in welcoming our family to Pine Canyon. Our adopted children had special crayon Veggie Tale aprons made by her. Our daughters had hand-crafted American Girls clothes she made. Everyone enjoyed her treats at Halloween. She always made our visits memorable. We remember tantalizing aromas coming from her kitchen. She must have loved cooking for her husband and family. She invited us to a bluegrass concert at a park. We loved it and her for sharing. The Aagards”

“Oh how we loved Barbara Pettley! She was the kind of grandmother who would throw her grandchildren's coats in the dryer for a few minutes so that they'd be warm waiting outside for the bus. She made every place that she lived and worked into a little bit of heaven. Her decorating skills brightened up her home and dazzled visitors at every holiday. We knew that she loved her family!
