He was predeceased by: his brother William Burghardt; and his brother-in-law Gary Anders. He is survived by: his mother Vadrus Bodily Roberts (Lowell); and his siblings, Marvin Burghardt (Sheila), Annette Reynolds (Kenneth), Lisa Watkins (Greg), Lydia Eaton (Brent), Laurie Sorensen (James), Barbara Madsen (Robert), Anita Ashmead (Lon), Bonnie Holt (Ron) and Nancy Harrison. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed served as a board member of the Uintah Chapter of the National Foundation March of Dimes, which received many regional awards.
