He was predeceased by: his wife Zola; his parents, Ray Hanberg and Bessie Hanberg; his brothers, Cecil and Rex; and his grandson Kelly Hanberg.

He is survived by: his brother Dale Hanberg; and his sons, Burke (Julene), Duane (Penelope) and Tim (Karla). He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
