He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Carlos and Christena Adelia Hardman Herbert; and his parents-in-law, Alden and Ellen Merrell. He is survived by: his spouse Gail Merrell; his children, Craig (Guadalupe), Kristine Carlstrom (James) and Greg Rowley (Robin); his grandchildren, Amber Sullivan (Alex), Britni Spafford (Marc), Cassandra Rock, Jim Carlstrom, Alexander Carlstrom, Nena Carlstrom, Alden Herbert, Kristina Herbert, Samantha Herbert and Vaneta Rowley; and his siblings, Linda Kilgrow (Don) and Everett Herbert. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren And many nieces and nephews.
