He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Lawson and Rosa Bell Lawson; and his wife Enid Cecile Holmes. He is survived by: his children, Gayla Lopez (Troy), Teresa Davis (Mike), Thomas Lawson (Colleen) and Cheryl Wilcox (Jerome). He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great grandchildren and one great- great grandchild.
