He was predeceased by : his parents, Pantaleon Gonzales and Leonor Garcia; and his son Edward Joseph Gonzales. He is survived by : his former life partner Connie Brown; his wife Mildred Hazel Prinkey of South Ogden; his children, Yalonna "Lonnie" Chadwick of South Ogden, Michael Moon (Bertha) of Phoenix, AZ and Donna Marie Moon of Scottsdale, AZ; and his siblings, Antonio, Lupe, Ernie, Ricky, Robert, Mario, Mary, Janie and Linda. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
