With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Charles Andrew Riess (Alexandria, Virginia), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 20, 2025 at the age of 78. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Riess and Nelda Baker Riess; and his brother Baker. He is survived by: his nephew Kevin Riess; his niece-in-law Shauvon Riess; his great-nephew Jackson Riess of Waco, TX; his niece Karen Riess of Abilene, TX; his great-nephew Joshua Gutierrez (Lexi Gutierrez); his cousins, Maurine Riess, Allison Poe, Lena Poe of Austin, TX, Lauren Cummings of Nashville, TN, Julie Shirar, Martin Kearns of Shelburne Falls, MA, David Shirar, Dallas Shirar and Siona Shirar of Swannanoa, NC.; his friend Randy Woods; his godson Clayton Woods of San Antonio, TX; and also Silas Gutierrez of Colorado Springs, CO.
In lieu of flowers, there will be an organization that you can donate to in Andy's honor that will be determined soon.
