It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George F. Gates (Bedford, Virginia), who passed away on April 23, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Walter and Alta Myrtle Moore Gates. He is survived by: his wife Janis Thomas Gates; his daughters, Rebecca Hubbard (Mike), Cindy Hale (Darrell), Sarah Marcott (Curt) and Sandra Horne (Jason); and his grandchildren, Charlie Burnette (Sam Burnette), Meredith Hubbard Hankins (Calvin Hubbard), Abby Cox (Katie Horne) and Gregory Horne (David Horne). He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
