He was predeceased by: his parents, James Everette Compton and Frances Elizabeth Frost of Richmond, VA.; his sister Barbara Pitts; his daughter Rhonda Roberts Cheek (Jeff); his grandson Eric Nichols; and his children-in-law, Jimmy Taylor and Nannette Compton.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Wooldrige Compton; his sons, Everette Compton and Russ Compton; his sisters, Frances Smith of Richmond, VA. and Margaret Waymack of Richmond, VA.; and his children, Gypsy Roberts Nichols, Bobby Roberts (Jan), Susan Roberts Taylor (Jimmy) and Donna Roberts Sexton (Tim).
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Bedford Christian Church (1928 Moneta Rd, Bedford, VA 24523). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
