He is survived by: his wife Mary Wolfe Melvin; his children, Pamela Melvin, Ruben Otero, Becky and Buck Thompson; his stepgrandchildren, Sierra Otero-Melvin, Liz Mariz Otero, Terrence Houey, Eric Thompson and Shala King; his siblings, Russell, Judith Melvin, Mary Young, Lora Thornton and Harvey Melvin; and his sister-in-law Noi Melvin. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and special friends.
