He was predeceased by: his parents, Foster Bittinger and Esther Bair Bittinger; and his sisters, Virginia Whitten, Annabelle Whitacre and Kathleen Wambolt.
He is survived by: his wife Esther Landis Bittinger; and his daughters, Lorraine Lineweaver (David) of Bridgewater, VA, Mildred Arnett (Ronald) of Shippensburg, PA and Marion Bittinger (Antonio Martinez) of Verona, VA. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
