He was predeceased by : his parents, Albert Hale and Myrtle Hale; his siblings, Columbus Hale, Carmel Hale, Bernice Shortt and Alberta Lester Vandyke; and his son Rickey Hale (Faye Hale).

He is survived by : his wife Lola Juanita Hale; his children, Carol Richardson Whitt (Doug), Brenda Hale, Norman Hale and Deanna Bostic (Shawn); his grandchildren, Laurie Tuggle (Kevin), Stephanie Richardson, Adam Whitt (Jessica), Jordan Whitt, Andrea Balthis (Jonathan), Keisha Justice, Luke Bostic, Haylee Bostic and Stuart Richardson; and his siblings, James Hale (Norma), Harold Hale (Loretta), Ray Hale, Darrell Hale (Judy), Shirley Miller and Joyce Conley (Jim).
