She was predeceased by : her father William "Popeye" McConahy. She is survived by : her husband Ted; her children, Leah and Christopher; her mother Betty Jean McConahy; and her sister Janine Blythe.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the ALS Association – DC/MD/VA Chapter. The ALS Association not only funds research, but also offers services, programs and equipment donations to families in need of help and answers.
