She was predeceased by: her mother Lorena Jackson of Charlotte County, Virginia.; her husbands, Howard Lee and James Venable; her sisters, Velma Odell Williams and Marion Jackson Garnail; her siblings' children, Rodney Williams and Chantay Taylor; and her great-nephew Joel Taylor.
She is survived by: her children, Rita Witcher, Michelle Venable and Roger Venable of Valley Stream, NY; her grandchildren, Lamaria Oliver (James), Alvin Witcher, Jr., Candise Wilson and Jasmine Wilson; her great grandchildren, Dashawn Newkirk, Jadon Oliver, Jakal Oliver and Jaida Wilson; her great great grandchildren, Na'Riyah and Ja'laiyah Newkirk; her sister Frances Robinson (Floyd) of Butner, NC; her siblings-in-law, Rev. William Venable (Florine) of Halifax and Minerva Venable of Pamplin; her aunt Vernell Clark of Phenix; and her uncles, Prucell Jackson (Beverly) and Cecil McFarland of Baltimore, MD. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Jeffress Funeral Home, Inc. (227 Thomas Jefferson Hwy, Charlotte Court House, VA 23923). A funeral service was held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Nazareth Baptist Church (2840 Midway Rd, Phenix, VA 23959). A burial was held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at the Henry Presbyterian Cemetery.
