It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ioannis Damvakaris (Charlottesville, Virginia), who passed away on January 17, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Zannis Damvakaris and Kyriakoula Damvakaris; his wife Margaro Rokkou Damvakaris; his siblings, Kostas, Christos, Dimitris and Evvangelia; his children, Mary Stratos (Greg), Chris Damvakaris (Misty) and George Damvakaris; his grandsons, Alex McDaniel (Nancy), Max Damvakaris, Gregory Stratos Jr., Cole Damvakaris and Luke Damvakaris; his great grandchild Ares Ioannis McDaniel; and his siblings, Margarita, Nicoleta and Zannis Damvakaris.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Greek Orthodox Church 100 Perry Drive, Charlottesville, VA 22902 and the Hospice House, 501 Park Street, Charlottesville, VA 22902 where John received exceptional care and made his journey to heaven peaceful and calm.
