It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John W. Carter (Charlottesville, Virginia), who passed away on April 8, 2020, at the age of 57, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul W. A. and Carrie Campbell Carter; his grandparents, William Lee Carter, Hattie Mae Carter (Smiley), Herbert Lee Campbell and Beedy Campbell (Wood); and his brother Larry Lee Rhodes, Sr..

He is survived by: his siblings, William L. Carter (Denise Norford), Dabney W. Carter (Cindy), Barbara C. Moore (Ronald), Paul W. A. Carter, Jr. and Michael A. Carter (Mollie); and his siblings' children, Tammy Proffit, Kellie Carter, Ashley Carter, Jennifer Marshall, Larry Rhodes Jr., Mark Moore, Paul Powell and John. He is also survived by many cousins, great nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of the Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Pkwy, Suite 300, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
