She was predeceased by: her parents, Nina Carroll (Ryan) and Philip Acosta Carroll; her brothers, Philip and John Lee (Shawn); and her former husband John Ziegler.
She is survived by: her daughters, Natalie, Jessica and Sophie Ziegler; and her grandchildren, Alexandra, John Christian Zirschky, Catherine Lucey, Reed and Simon Schwartz. She is also survived by great grandchild, and by nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that any memorial donations or contributions be made to The Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art or The McGuffey Art Center in Charlottesville VA .
