He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilson Purcell Mawyer and Mildred Belew Mawyer; and his siblings, Wilson Purcell "Buddy" Mawyer, Jr. and Nancy Mawyer Proffitt. He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey Gordon Mawyer of Charlottesville and Kimberly Mooney Elliott; his son-in-law Scott Elliott of Bartlett; his grandsons, Mitchell Chandler Mawyer of Charlottesville and Taylor Scott Elliott of Bartlett; his siblings-in-law, Page Lee Beverley (Martha Beverley), Joan Beverley Carpenter (Jim Carpenter) and Reeves "Cotton" Proffitt; his sibling's children, Wanda Proffitt Hudson (Charles "Chuck" Hudson), Hunter Lee Beverley and Wilson Proffitt (Shirley Proffitt); and his grandson Mitch. He is also survived by great niece and great nephew, along with a multitude of extended family members and friends.
