It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Bessie Henry Watkins of Chase City, Virginia, born in Halifax, Virginia, who passed away on November 24, 2020, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Addie Henry and Allie Ferrell Henry; her husband Alexander Watkins; her son Eddie James Watkins; and her sister Ruby Henry Jones.

She is survived by: her children, Alexander Watkins, Jr. of Chase City, VA, Al Watkins of Chase City, VA, Doyle Watkins of Chase City, VA, Milton Watkins (Loretta) of Boydton, VA, Robert Simmons of Oxford, NC and Dominique Simmons Gregory (Kenny) of Clarksville, VA. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Public viewing will be held on Saturday from 2:00 P. M. until 6:00 P. M. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a mask will be required for all viewings and services. We ask that you adhere to all guidelines, and practice social distancing.
